Job Summary
The Product Manager for Wearables will guide the entire development process of smartwatches and fitness bands in Nigeria.
The role covers idea testing, setting the right features, planning prices, preparing sales channels, and improving the products based on real feedback from Nigerian users.
The position requires someone who understands the local market and can bring fresh ideas that support growth.

Key Responsibilities
Market Research and User Groups:
The manager will study the market to understand different groups such as students, drivers, and fitness lovers.
This helps in choosing the right features like battery strength, health monitoring, and local language options.
It also helps in understanding how much people are willing to pay, making it easier to shape the product to match user needs.
By looking closely at these groups, the manager can create clear user profiles that guide the entire product process.
Roadmap and Local Adjustments:
The role involves creating a full product plan that explains what features the devices should have and how they should function in the Nigerian market.
This includes choosing the right languages, watch faces, and linking the devices to apps people already use.
Every update in the roadmap must connect to local behaviour and needs, so the devices feel familiar and easy to use.
Pilot Programs and Field Trials
The manager will organise trial programs with shops, partners, or communities to test the products.
These trials allow real users to handle the devices and share honest feedback.
The information gathered from these sessions helps the manager understand what works, what needs adjustment, and what people expect the devices to do better.
Integration and App Feedback
The manager will work closely with engineers and partners to make sure the apps and devices stay stable.
This includes checking firmware updates, fixing errors, and improving over-the-air update processes.
By gathering crash reports and small technical issues from field tests, the manager can guide the team toward fast improvements.
Channel Support and Retail Preparedness:
The role also includes preparing retail materials such as demo kits, training guides, user instructions, and simple FAQs for stores and service centres.
Since buyers depend on store teams for explanations, every material must be clear and helpful.
These support tools help shops understand the products and explain them easily to customers.
Commercial Strategy
The Product Manager will plan different commercial options such as bundles, app-based offers, and pricing groups.
By studying market behaviour, the manager can create packages that attract more users and encourage long-term engagement.
This helps the company grow its customer base and improve its brand presence.
After-Sales and Product Data
The manager will track returns, device faults, and customer reviews from app stores.
This constant monitoring helps the team find repeated issues, understand user complaints, and release fixes quickly.
The manager must also share product updates and roadmap changes with field teams so they stay informed and prepared for customer questions.
Reports and Performance Reviews:
The role requires weekly and monthly reports that cover sales numbers, active device users, churn trends, and top feature requests.
These reports help the company make informed decisions and adjust strategies when needed.
Clear, simple reporting strengthens teamwork and supports faster execution.
Qualifications/Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Business, or a related field is needed for this role.
