NDDC Postgraduate Scholarship Details

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) was created by the Federal Government in the year 2000 to facilitate development in the South-South region of the country.  This Scholarship is dedicated to empowering the youths of the Niger Delta region by offering foreign post graduate scholarships. The NDDC scholarship program has been on for several years. 

This scholarship initiative aims to enhance human resource development, support the government’s local content program, and prepare students to compete globally in various professional disciplines. It of note that the NDDC scholarship is fully funded, and it covers: full tuition fees, visa, accommodation, flight and living expenses for all selected candidates.  

Please note that this scholarship is only for candidates who meet the requirements and have earned Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees From reputable universities and in one of the following disciplines:

Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must not be more than 40 years
  • Applicants must have achieved a first class, second class upper or lower division Bachelor’s degree  
  • Applicants must have completed the National Youth service corps (NYSC)
  • Applicants must not have any criminal record or belong to a cult

How To Apply for NDDC Postgraduate scholarship 2024

Below Are the steps to  follow in order to successfully submit your application for the 2024 NDDC Scholarship.

  1. Prospective candidates should visit the school’s webpage: (www.nddc.gov.ng)
  2. Click on view details (of the NDDC Postgraduate Scholarship) 
  3. Proceed to submit an online application Via the Commission’s Website by clicking “APPLY NOW”
  4. Shortlisted candidates will undergo a computer based  test conducted  by the consultants in Rivers State, candidates must score a minimum of 70% to proceed to the next stage 
  5. Further shortlisting: Candidates who pass the test will be shortlisted 
  6. The next step is final verification, which will be done through the Local Government Area (LGA) and community Development Committee (CDC)

  1. NYSC Discharge/exemption letter 
  2. Relevant degrees from recognized universities
  3. A recent passport photograph 
  4. Local government identification letter 
  5. Postgraduate admission letter from a recognized university
Additional Information
  1. Decisions made by the NDDC are final, with the commission holding the sole discretion to select students 
  2. The Commission will priorities candidates from oil producing host communities/ LGA provided they meet the required cut off  mark 
  3. The scholarship does not allow for deferment, change of  course or institution
